StarCraft back at DreamHack

Jonkoping, Sweden - After being removed from the 2008 Winter games, StarCraft: Brood War is back in the DreamHack lineup for Summer 2009, featuring a prize pool of 4,500 Euros.

In late 2008, it was announced that StarCraft: Brood War would be absent from the DreamHack Winter 2008 games, stirring public outcry and petitions to have the game returned to its spot. Now, under the organization of GosuGamers.net, the StarCraft: Brood War tournament has returned to the DreamHack lineup for Summer 2008. Featuring a prize pool of 4,500 Euros, a new format will decide who plays in the final 8 man tournament. The tournament will be held at the Summer games in Jonkoping, Sweden. The 5 qualifiers beforehand will determine the 8 slots, with 4 wild cards being awarded in the form of two offline tournaments and two online tournaments. The final 4 spots will be decided on the first day of the Summer DreamHack tournament, when an offline tournament will be held to determine the spots.
