The Taiwanese based UMX has sponsored ESEA Invite team, 9Storm.9Storm – a young team which has managed to go from a horrendous 2–14 record last ESEA Invite season to a playoff bound 11–5 this season – has been sponsored by Taiwanese based organization Ultimax Gaming, better known as UMX.
This will be the first time that an American Counter Strike team has been sponsored by a gaming organization that is not from the western world.
UMX is well known for their sponsorship of the best team in Taiwan, which has competed in almost every WCG as well as qualifying for the IEM Global Finals this year before being unable to attend the event due to paper issues.
The announcement came in a very discreet manner on their ESEA profile stating that:
Formerly known as 9StorM.
We've joined the Taiwanese based organization ULTIMAX-GAMING.
